Launch of the EU-COMPAR project

On 11 and 12 January, the launch meeting of the European project Comparing effectiveness of self-management interventions in 4 high priority chronic diseases in Europe (COMPAR-EU) took place.

The meeting was attended by 26 researchers from 7 organizations in 6 European countries.

COMPAR-EU seeks to identify, compare and classify the most effective and cost-effective self-management interventions (IMS) for adults in four high priority chronic diseases: type 2 diabetes, obesity, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart failure.

A technology platform will be developed that will incorporate decision-making tools tailored to the needs of a wide range of end users (including researchers, patients and industry).

The Avedis Donabedian Foundation will lead work package number 2, which deals with the validation of a taxonomy of self-management interventions and develop a results catalogue (COS, core outcome sets) for self-management interventions in these 4 pathologies. Also leads the coordination and management of the project.
