The Avedis Donabedian Research Institute seeks to incorporate a postdoctoral researcher

About us:

The Avedis Donabedian Foundation (FAD) is a non-profit organization with the mission to contribute to improving quality of care and outcomes for individuals and communities, through generating and disseminating knowledge and implementing innovative solutions in health and social care. For over 35 years, FAD has been involved as partner or coordinator in diverse research projects, developing robust evaluation processes for research and practice, designing evidence-based interventions and implementing them in real-life settings, and contributing to policy development. These activities have involved multiple stakeholders and successful coordination of high-budget projects, demonstrating expertise in delivering impactful, large-scale initiatives.

The Avedis Donabedian Research Institute, affiliated to the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), was established in 2006 and is managed by FAD as an independent legal entity. Its current research strategy is focused on interdisciplinary applied research on quality, efficiency, sustainability and equity of health and social care services, patient safety, patient empowerment and self-management of chronic conditions, new models of care such as integrated, person-centered care, evaluation of patient outcomes, experience and satisfaction with health and social care services, and the development, evaluation and implementation of complex health interventions, including digital health, healthcare professional training and adoption of best practices. Our research team’s methodological expertise spans a broad range of topics, including implementation science, health intervention development, behavior change, advanced quantitative methods (causal, multilevel, and Bayesian modeling), mixed methods, participatory research and stakeholder engagement, evidence synthesis, and user-centered design.

The Avedis Donabedian Foundation (FAD) is officially recognized as a research institute in Catalonia by AGAUR (Catalan Agency for University and Research Grants) and is a member of the Research Network in Primary Care and Health Promotion (RICAPPS).
