New e-Pract project for fall prevention and rational use of restraints
The Avedis Donabedian University Institute (FAD) offers you a new e-pract project for the prevention of falls and the rational use of restraints.
After the experience of accompaniment and dynamization of hundreds of hospital and health centers in achieving significant improvements in the prevention of falls, the FAD now offers the possibility of developing it in an online format.
What does the methodology of accompaniment for the prevention of falls consist of?
- Use of validated methods for implementing clinical practice guidelines.
- Addressing barriers and facilitators to implementation.
- Working at the level of clinical units or services (“microsystems” approach)
- Supporting teams to identify and address recurrent causes of falls
- Promotion of safety culture and implementation of strategies for the rational use of restraints.
With the application of this methodology, we have been able to increase the implementation of preventive measures by 25% and reduce the rate of falls by 50% or more.
